I am honored and grateful for the support I have received during this campaign. It will be my privilege to continue representing northern Eden Prairie and southern Minnetonka in the State Legislature for the next two years. I couldn't have done it without your help.
This victory was an incredible team effort. Whether you knocked on a door for me and other DFL candidates, made phone calls, wrote a letter to the editor, donated money to my campaign or gave me your vote, you helped lead to our convincing win.
When our campaign won by just 239 votes in 2004, the critics called it a fluke. In 2006, with your help, we worked even harder and won by 1,732 votes, a full 10 percentage points ahead of my opponent. This time, I'm pleased to say, we widened our margin even further, winning by 3,650 votes or 16 percentage points. For complete, precinct-by-precinct results, go here.
With this victory, of course, comes great responsibility. I will continue working with Democrats, Republicans and Independents to responsibly invest in education, transportation infrastructure and the jobs of tomorrow so that we can move Minnesota forward and out of these trying economic times. As Abraham Lincoln said, "You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today."
